We are coming up to the final stretch. Most of the patterns this week will be Hats or Cowls using bigger yarns and needles.
This is my new favorite hat, I loved knitting it and I love wearing it. It has earflaps and covers the back of the neck. Lolo is worked sideways from a provisional cast-on; crown shaping is achieved with short rows while increases and decreases form a sinuous brim that covers the ears. Lines of slipped stitches flow across the garter background to accentuate the shaping and create sculptural shifts in texture. This unisex hat can be knit in multiple sizes by changing needle size and gauge. I made mine in Ultra Alpaca.
The Begbie Cowl is a fun & fast knit, perfect for gift knitting or adding a splash of color to your own wardrobe. Lacy ribbing in a thick single ply creates a light accessory that is soft & warm. Loop it around twice for a loose fit that protects the back of your neck but doesn’t make you too toasty. Double is up & wear it snug like a key hole scarf for those particularly cold days. The pattern includes 2 styles of finishing, both of which can be worn in many different ways. The store model is made out of Plymouth yarns Baby Alpaca Grande.
Flash Sale: Plymouth Baby Alpaca Grande and Cascade’s yarn Baby Alpaca Chunky 25% off until Wednesday December 16th 2015.
